Safety Disclaimer
General information only
HollyXmas provides general craft and decorating information, not a guarantee that every project is suitable for every person, material, building, classroom, or location. Readers are responsible for assessing tools, skills, surroundings, allergies, product instructions, and applicable rules before beginning.
Tools and supervision
Knives, needles, staplers, wire cutters, pruners, hot glue, power tools, and sharp scissors can cause injury. Use an appropriate tool on a stable surface, follow manufacturer instructions, cut away from the body, and use suitable protective equipment. Adults must perform or directly supervise age-restricted steps.
Children, pets, and small parts
Buttons, beads, bells, magnets, pins, button batteries, cords, and small ornaments can create choking, ingestion, entanglement, puncture, or poisoning hazards. Keep unsuitable materials away from children and pets. Salt dough is not edible and its salt content can be dangerous to animals.
Heat, flame, and electricity
Keep paper, felt, ribbon, dry greenery, wood shavings, and other combustible materials away from open flames, hot bulbs, heaters, and working fireplaces. Prefer low-heat battery LEDs where decorative light is appropriate. Do not modify electrical products or conceal damaged wiring.
Mounting and display
Verify fasteners for the actual surface and load. Follow curing times and manufacturer limits. Keep decorations clear of exits, sprinklers, heating and ventilation equipment, handles, locks, walking paths, sleeping spaces, and locations where a falling item could cause harm.
Natural, reclaimed, and substituted materials
Inspect natural and reused materials for insects, mold, sharp edges, contamination, unknown coatings, or structural weakness. A substitution can change weight, flammability, curing, strength, and tool requirements. Test a sample and follow the substitute manufacturer’s directions.
Allergies and shared spaces
Check ingredients, allergy information, school policy, fire rules, accessibility needs, privacy requirements, and facility approval before a group activity. Avoid food-based craft materials when allergy status is uncertain and do not publish children’s identifying information without proper authorization.
Downloads and professional help
Print templates at 100 percent or “Actual Size” and verify any calibration mark. Consult a qualified professional for permanent structural attachment, mains electricity, building or fire-code compliance, hazardous substances, or another risk beyond ordinary household crafting.
